The Internships and Competitions
The Internships and Competitions Committee stands as a cornerstone of the Law Students Association of Nigeria LAWSAN, Babcock University. Committed to excellence, the committee facilitates and prepares students for internship opportunities while strategically overseeing both internal and external legal competitions.
The Internship and Competitions Committee has collaborated with renowned professionals and leading organizations in the legal field, including Cece, Yara, Mayein, Allen, Brooks, Tunde, Adisa, and CIBN, among others. These partnerships have offered invaluable exposure and a truly enriching experience, equipping partners with practical insights and skills essential for success in the legal profession.
Testimonials
Hear from partners about their first hand experiences with internships facilitated by the committee.
“My internship experience at Allen and Brooks was indeed an insightful one, as I had the opportunity to work closely with lawyers who engaged me in client work and taught important lessons on how to maximize the potential of legal practice. I was able to learn a thing or two about corporate law, especially as regards contracts made operating in two different jurisdictions. I was also part of the firm’s meetings, and I got to see contracts being analysed and reviewed.”

Competitions
The Internship and Competitions Committee has collaborated with renowned professionals and leading organizations in the legal field, including Cece, Yara, Mayein, Allen, Brooks, Tunde, Adisa, and CIBN, among others. These partnerships have offered invaluable exposure and a truly enriching experience, equipping partners with practical insights and skills essential for success in the legal profession.
Some of such competitions include the Manfred Lachs Competition, Lex Ferranda Prize, Moot Academy Essay Competition (in Collaboration with the Regal Law Centre), among many others.
Competitions
LAWSAN Babcock and the School of Law and Security Studies consistently produce outstanding legal practitioners and leaders. However, fulfilling Babcock University’s mission to develop world class leaders requires financial commitments that some students find challenging to meet.
In order not to deprive our partners of the necessary aid they would need to protect their future and not to deprive the world of talent yet to be seen, we are seeking financial aid from willing donors so as to set up a trust fund for our promising partners who are limited in their financial capabilities.
Law Clinic
At LAWSAN Babcock, we are committed to serving our community. Our law clinic, managed by partners and supervised by lecturers, regularly visits the town to provide legal aid to those in need. The Client Counselling Society leads these initiatives, offering valuable experience in client relations before formal legal practice.

We are ultimately concerned with the facilitation of academic success. As a result, we are intentional about creating and sustaining an archive that our partners can always refer to for guidance in preparation for lectures, tests and examinations.
